Most Kutani-yaki leans into 360 years of tradition. This one leans the other way. The Mansaku studio takes the same Kutani body, the same hand-painting technique, the same paulownia (kiri) wood gift box — and reimagines the surface with a contemporary "Daydream" design that wouldn't look out of place in a Tokyo design gallery. The result is a 11oz Japanese tea cup that reads as both a serious ceramic collector's piece and a modern object, with quiet appeal for anyone who likes craft pottery but is tired of the same old florals. Hand-painted in Ishikawa, Japan.
